This hotel is old and it does show in the appearance of the room. The service, however, is excellent. The guy who checked us in was very friendly. He walked us through all the benefits included in our Amex FHR booking. It was a smooth check-in process. ||The room was huge. The view was stunning. It was overlooking the marina. When we got to the room, there was a plate of goodies, which was much appreciated. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was just standard with a bathtub, no separate shower. The toiletries were okay. ||Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

I have been staying at this hotel for 8 years at least 2-3 times a year for work from London. I have never had an issues but the last two visits have been awful. The most recent one I got given a room that smelt of the combination of stinky food and damp. I slept with the door open to the marina. I told the guy on the desk this morning and he looked at me and said nothing. Your front desk staff are ALL awful. They used to be so warm, friendly and welcoming. They remembered I stay at your hotel often. Now I get treated like someone who doesn’t know the hotel with the coldest, more unwelcoming executional poise! I’m back next week and the week after and hope for a better experience! Get your game face on and either fire or retrain your reception staff. The door men are awesome!

Enjoyed our stay on a family trip to the area. From valet parking to checkin and checkout, every interaction with staff was professional and thoughtful. I had a birthday that day and was pleasantly surprised at the balloons, cake, and extra touches that went into our stay. The LAX airport is also a 15 min drive away so it made it convenient to stay so close to the airport. Rather than stay at an airport hotel, the Ritz Marina Del Rey is the better option!

Exceptional service. Lovely area to walk around the marina. Would definitely return!

Took a last minute, whirlwind trip to LA and we decided to stay at the Ritz in Marina Del Rey. It's really convenient to Venice Beach and the Santa Monica pier, and we have friends near Malibu so we figured it was a good location for us.
I've read a few reviews about the property/experience not being quite up to Ritz Carlton standards, but we didn't find any of that to be true. When we checked in, our room wasn't quite ready, and we weren't really put out about it. We were just fine grabbing a drink on the marina for a few minutes, but Chris at the front desk was very apologetic, and gave us some extremely generous perks for our inconvenience. Again, we weren't angry at all, but the gesture was first class and much appreciated.
Every employee we encountered was extremely polite and helpful. We went to both on-site restaurants, and got room service a couple of times and were very happy each time.
The rooms are maybe a touch dated, but extremely clean and very nice. Apparently they're getting a refurb in '25?
Anyway, we truly enjoyed our stay. The view of the marina from the suite was breathtaking, and all of the services/amenities/facilities were top shelf.
Would not hesitate to stay there again.

We had a beautiful stay. Scheduling with American Express made everything very smooth. We arrived at our check in time however the room was unavailable. We were then provided with a beautiful upgraded room with a view of the marina (this is also available booking with Amex if room is available). We enjoyed lunch as Cast and Plow which was accommodating to our vegan requests. In addition, everything was very clean, beautiful and staff were pleasant. We ordered room service which we ordered ahead the night before which was convenient. In addition, it was a very busy Labor Day weekend. They were running behind on rooms being available. Some guests were quite rude to the staff. Even after that treatment the staff was still very professional and calm assisting them. I was impressed. Happy to go again.

I recently stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey, and honestly, I was disappointed. First of all, the valet parking service was a nightmare. The staff were extremely unprofessional, and it seemed like they had no idea how to handle cars. I had to wait much longer than necessary, even though there didn’t seem to be many cars.

As for the customer service, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. There was no politeness or willingness to help, and the staff acted like they were doing you a favor just by speaking to you. No warmth or professionalism, which you would expect from a hotel of this level.

Moreover, the cleanliness of the hotel left much to be desired. There were visible signs of dirt in the room, and the bed linens looked like they hadn’t been changed after the previous guests. I expected much better from a hotel with such a name and prices.

Overall, my experience was extremely unpleasant. I would definitely not recommend staying at this hotel, especially if you value good service and comfort.

Everything about this hotel was fantastic. We were in town for a girls trip and concert nearby. Our room was spacious and spotless with a balcony that overlooked the Marina. The food and drinks at Cast & Plow was excellent, and the gym/pool/spa were perfect for getting in a good workout and relaxing afterwards. The location was also ideal-an easy 5-10 minute walk to shopping (even closer for restaurants), and a 20ish minute drive to both the concert at the Intuit Dome and LAX.||By far though, what makes this hotel standout is the staff. From a quick (and slightly early) check-in, to the AMAZING folks (I wish I got their names, but it was a female and a male) at the concierge desk. We were celebrating a milestone and had requested some room decorations and when we got to our room there were a bunch of purple balloons and a card with a sweet message, plus some snacks. They also helped us arrange seamless transportation to wherever we needed to go. Thank so much, we made some great memories in our short time there!

A great hotel near LA area. Very close to Venice beach and 25 min from Beverly.

Room sizes are decent, they do honor Marriott status. Got an upgrade to the room type, definitely recommend walking on the marina in the morning. They have a pool and hot tub.

Their gym also offers steam in case you want to go after the pool. They let us avail early check in and late check out. The hotel is family friendly so our kids had a great time. We also sat on the marina for breakfast which had a nice fireplace.
