This historical hotel has an understated elegance. It was well maintained and the room was clean and modernized. The staff was all very kind and polite. I really liked the personal welcome note left in our room and the text messages we received. That personal touch is always nice. The bar area was also very nice. We enjoyed our drinks in that warm inviting area. This was an enjoyable stay.

The Cambria Hotel, Houston Downtown Convention Center - JUST GO!! A GEM of a hotel, walking distance to great restaurants, Brown Convention Center, & LRT red line- a short & inexpensive ride to Hermann Park, Museum of Natural History, Butterfly Museum & Museum of Fine Arts. We had a marvelous stay here!! This Art Deco historical building has been beautifully restored to its original days of the TEXACO Oil Baron Mr. Sullivan who built it! The decor throughout the building is beautiful, the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. My husband remarked the room shower is the best he has ever enjoyed anywhere. BEST OF ALL- YOUR STAFF: all are friendly, helpful who go out of their way to make your stay a great one! Given the bustling downtown during the Houston Quilt Festival, this hotel's pricing was "very reasonable" by comparison nearby. I am SO HAPPY I have found the Cambria; I plan to return next year once again. JUST STAY at the Cambria and have a very comfortable, & happy time while in Houston. KUDO's CAMBRIA HOTEL- you make Houston GRAND! Thank you!! I hope your hotel enjoys great success among all others and that everyone who visits enjoys the same wonderful experience that my husband and I did. Nice old hotel full of character with very beautiful rooms and bathrooms. Close to amazing restaurants and venues. But a huge thank you to the staff who made our stay so comfortable. They were so very friendly and always eager to help. So thank you to the chef who made me what I like on order (I think he was Eduardo but can’t remember and he changed team from what I hear ), Tecle and Taouta at the door were fantastic, jello, Ashia and Jeff at reception, Andrea and Nicole at breakfast plus all those I forgot the name of or did not ask. A thing I would have like is a safe place to sit outside.

I must admit when my company booked this hotel for me I was a bit worried because it is a choice hotel and Choice Hotels are typically cheap and not exactly nice ...

However, I was pleasantly surprised with this location. The rooms were comfortable the service was great and most important I was able to get a good night's sleep. They also have a nice bar and restaurant down the stairs but unfortunately I was not there long enough to enjoy it.

One other nice thing is when you exit there is a little coffee stand that serves coffee muffins and cinnamon rolls each morning. This was a nice touch as I was able to grab a quick bite to eat on the way out while waiting for my valet.

Even though you won't earn loyalty points with a brand like Marriott or Hilton, I highly recommend this hotel considering all options in Downtown Houston, this is probably one of the more affordable nicer hotels!!

The once-upon-a-time office building has been amazingly renovated and remodeled into a modern and comfortable hotel. Our large corner room had huge windows making it bright and cheery during the day with great views of the city. (We wondered who was lucky enough to have had their office in the space!) The bathroom had a walk-in shower and vanity counter large enough to spread out all of our items. Air-conditioning worked well with simple wall control. The king bed was very comfortable. Another plus was the huge work desk tucked into a corner. We only had breakfast in The Rig restaurant. The menu is small but with something for every taste. Staff were always helpful and friendly. The location is perfect for dining, sports events, shopping, and transportation.

The Cambria Hotel in Houston is a fantastic choice for families and travelers alike. The location is excellent—close to major attractions and easy to navigate whether you’re in town for business or leisure. The hotel itself is impressively clean, and the staff go above and beyond to maintain a welcoming and tidy environment.

It’s also very kid-friendly, with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space for little ones to feel at ease. Despite its modern design and upscale touches, the rates are surprisingly affordable, making it a great value for the area.

The only drawback is the parking, which is a bit pricey, but that’s to be expected in this part of Houston. If you plan ahead, rideshares or nearby public transportation can help cut down on costs.

The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and thoughtful amenities. The onsite dining options were a pleasant surprise—delicious and convenient, especially after a long day of exploring the city.

Overall, Cambria Hotel offers a perfect mix of comfort, style, and affordability. It’s a place we’ll gladly return to on future visits to Houston!

I had a great time here the hotel was lovely and the staff were amazing! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I had my first drink at the bar with Omar he was so sweet and made me a great margarita and an amazing shot it was altogether a great experience definitely stay here if your visiting Houston

My fiance and I had the pleasure of staying here for an astros game. (From Fort Worth). This was our first time in Houston, I highly recommend visiting. (Safe and friendly from staff to guests). We enjoyed our stay so much we splurged for another night. I’d like to specifically mention Ashia, Brendon, and Don. These lovely people made our stay so enjoyable. I’ve never stayed somewhere where the employees were so helpful and friendly. These guys deserve a raise. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were absolutely magnificent, even the valets were so amazing. Everything from check in - adding an additional stay - and departure were SEAMLESS. This location was extremely convenient, we ended up walking everywhere (all within a few blocks) We could stay here forever. Definitely recommend staying at the Cambria in Houston.
