I had a lovely stay here for an event in downtown Austin. I traveled solo and felt very very safe which is imprtant to me when I travel alone. The staff was AMAZING and provided a very personal experience. I had apps and a cocktail at the bar and the service and food/drinks were top notch! I normally don’t sleep well in hotels, but had a great sleep here. I expected it to be loud as it’s located in downtown Austin, but it was very quiet and peaceful. I love all the details put into the rooms, restaurant and lobby. I also enjoyed coffee from their cafe in the morning. Again, staff and coffee were amazing. I will definitely be back again and highly recommend! Also, it’s so affordable! 🙂

Early this morning before 8:30 a.m., I had a wonderful interaction with Mr. Joseph at the front desk and he was very accommodating. He has excellent customer service and was very patient as he assisted me with ordering room service and even delivering it to my room. I would like for him to be recognized for his exceptional customer care and attention. Great Job!!!

Great unique hotel within easy walking distance to downtown (a very short walk to the pedestrian bridge and you are there). Would not hesitate to book a return trip. Really enjoyed how open feeling the hotel is, without sacrificing quiet rooms. Very solid/good on-site restaurant and bar as well. Might make this my new go to Austin hotel.

The carpenter hotel is such a vibe.
We had the most incredible stay. The staff was amazing, particularly Joseph, the receptionist. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The pool is beautiful and so relaxing. Rooms are so clean and had the best dirty martini at the bar downstairs. 10/10.

Our favorite hotel in Austin. The staff is so friendly and accommodating - we’ve stayed here multiple times celebrating different events and they always take great care of us. Abbey from their team was especially helpful this visit; they drop everything to make sure your stay is perfect!

Their coffee shop is great, the restaurant and bar as well, and the interior garden is an ideal Austin hideaway.

The best location by the trails - we’ll always stay here when we come back to Austin.

I had stayed at the Carpenter years ago when it was new, and returned this past weekend (last minute, same day booking) when I needed to add a night onto a pre-booked trip. I've stayed at almost every interesting hotel in Austin, and this is one of my favorites. The location is perfect... walkable to the waterside trails, a number of restaurants, and even Downtown and South Congress if you're adventurous. The on-site restaurant, bar and coffee shop and fun and nice to have if you'd rather stay on property. Cute pool, simple but stylish rooms, and friendly staff. Note that they charge one of those resort fees (I think it was $25) and parking is a bit steep at $35 for this part of town. Overall, at the right rate, it's a fantastic option.

The most unique hotel I've ever stayed at, and I will definitely gladly stay again. Service was so kind and professional. The rooms are stunning and a beautiful contradiction of industrial meets cozy. Small but meaningful touches such as a sound machine, light dimmers, and a Bluetooth speaker.

Our recent stay at The Carpenter Hotel in Austin, Texas, was truly unforgettable, and much of that is thanks to the exceptional service provided by the staff, especially Joseph at the front desk.

From the moment we checked in, Joseph’s warmth and professionalism stood out. He greeted us with a friendly smile and immediately made us feel welcome. Throughout our stay, Joseph consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Whether it was offering thoughtful suggestions for local attractions, promptly attending to our requests, or just checking in to see how our day was going, Joseph’s genuine care and attention to detail made a significant difference in our experience.

What impressed us most was Joseph’s ability to anticipate our needs before we even asked. It’s rare to encounter someone who is so attuned to guests’ needs and who can make you feel so valued and cared for. His deep knowledge of the hotel and the surrounding area was incredibly helpful, and his personalized recommendations really enhanced our visit to Austin.

In addition to Joseph, we also want to recognize Carole and James, who were equally wonderful. Carole’s insights into local spots were spot-on, and James was always there to assist with a friendly attitude. Together, they created an atmosphere that was warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating.

The Carpenter Hotel itself is a gem in Austin – stylish, comfortable, and perfectly situated for exploring the city. The rooms are beautifully designed with a unique flair that reflects Austin’s eclectic vibe, and the on-site amenities are top-notch.

In summary, our stay at The Carpenter Hotel was made extraordinary by the remarkable service from Joseph, Carole, and James. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return.
