Phone did not work, tv did not work the first night, hot tub is not hot, front desk is not that bright.
Other than that, the hotel is decent. I'm sure the suites are very nice since they are new. Mediocre at best since the price is relatively inexpensive for the area. No offense but I feel holiday inn is a relatively better deal because they have renovated all their properties.

DoubleTree by Hilton Sarasota Bradenton Airport extremely disappointed by this hotel- staff extremely RUDE. Not accommodating- rooms small pool was out of order and there was late night construction being done on hotel- ruined our weekend.
the location is absolutely dreadful. in the middle of nowhere. no shops or restaurants within at least 3 miles (closest was a 7-11) The front desk person a male with dreadlocks, extremely RUDE- would not turn on TV in lobby and wouldn't give one of the guests in our team a 1/2 later checkout.
This is a last resort only- dirty rooms too. PLUS they knew we were with a lacrosse group so jacked up the prices.

Rooms were fine, if a bit pricey. But beware -- the airport shuttle doesn't start until 7am. If you have an early morning flight -- the entire reason we were staying at a hotel near the airport -- you're on your own with an Uber. Nothing like paying an additional $35 bucks on top of a pricey room.

Do not stay at this hotel. Room maintenance is poor. I did not have a desk lamp and the bathroom outlet was dangerous. I made note at the front desk on Day 1 and never heard another word about the problem and neither was anything done. Basically ... it was a place to sleep and bathe.

The room is fine, but be warned,,,the airport shuttle (and this is advertised as an airport hotel) doesn't start until 7:00 am. If you have an early flight, you need to call a taxi or Uber to get to the airport. Also, if you eat dinner there, they charge a "service charge." This was totally unexpected as no other Garden Inn we have ever stayed in has done this. Apparently it was on the dinner receipt, but by then you have already eaten there and have no choice but to pay it. My husband didn't notice it, so he also left a tip which meant we paid $50.00 in service charges for dinner for 2. In addition the TV didn't work and the answer was "we're working on it." It was still not working in the morning.

Rude staff and unprofessional Front desk supervisor. She was also was aggressive and did not look professional. She had her bejama on when she was talking to us with her name tag on her shirt.
We had 3 major issues with our stay.

#1 Housekeeping was nocking on the door at 8 AM in the morning and tried to open the door many times after. This is a saftey issue and was scared from my kids when I heard housekeeping trying to come in the room and not knowing who it was. Luckly I had locked the door with the door latch. Anyone with a key access can come in to my room while we are a sleep. Also the key to the room was deactivated and were not able to enter the room in the morning around 10 am. Supervisor on duty told us thier was a mistake by the frontdesk and said it was a human error that our room marked was checked out by mistake. She said it is not a big deal and it is a hotel to expect anything good happen
#2 The hotel is under renovation, workers were outside our window at 7:30 AM screaming and laughing loud. When I told the supervisor about the issue, I was told it is a hotel and to expect anything. Her answe should have been, yes we apologize and we will address with the contractors.

#3 shower hardly had any water coming out and was hard to take shower in the morning, room was clean, I will give them that

I have worked hard for money to pay for this hotel to stay the night and the saftey and service were the worst . This is not the first time I have stayed with a Hilton hotel and this is by far was the worse experience ever with any hotels.

We have traveled to other countries and never been treated like this before in any other chain hotels.

TV Remote not working, it was sticky and not functioning. Went to the front desk and was given a replacement. Same problem. Toilet was leaking, notified the front desk, they responded with “should have told us earlier”. What kind of response is that? Hair in the sink upon arrival. Not worth the money.
