I recently stayed at the InterContinental Hotel in downtown San Antonio for a conference, and it was an incredible experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to assist with anything we needed. The rooms were immaculate, with thoughtful setups and small amenities like laundry bags and a coffee bar that made our stay even more comfortable.

The hotel is impressively clean—there’s constant upkeep, and you can see the care put into maintaining the property. Complimentary water bottles in the room were a nice touch, and we were able to get a late check-out thanks to being IHG members, which was a huge plus.

Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations. From the spacious, well-appointed rooms to the excellent customer service, I would highly recommend the InterContinental Hotel for anyone visiting San Antonio.

I want to personally thank Angel and Josh in the main hotel bar and Issac at the front desk as they gave us the most superior service. My husband and I had a difficult experience at the rooftop bar with an employee who was rather rude so we left and came down to the interior hotel bar. I will say with absolute confidence that the staff at the interior hotel bar and Issac saved this experience 100%. We were here for our anniversary and wanted a quick night cap to end the final night of our trip and it was almost ruined! Thank you Angel, Josh and Issac! We will definitely be back just for the amazing staff we encountered.

“Absolutely amazing stay! From start to finish, everything was perfect. A special shoutout to Terry from valet parking—he went above and beyond by charging my electric car without me even requesting it! This thoughtful gesture saved me a trip to the supercharger and was a huge time-saver. The reception staff were incredibly welcoming, and the cleanliness of the entire hotel was impeccable. Thank you for such an outstanding experience—I’ll definitely be back!”

Overall our stay here was pretty nice. The concierge, Steve, was one of the first people who greeted us upon arrival and went above and beyond. He was very sweet and happy to answer all of our questions. For breakfast Sharlaine ,our hostess, was very sweet and stayed professional amidst all the chaos (and frankly rude guests). She remembered us from the night before and made our restaurant experience nice. Devin was our server for breakfast and very attentive despite the restaurant being very busy and seemingly understaffed. All the staff encountered in all the restaurants were very nice and helpful. Hotel was obviously new and was very clean.

That being said, the pool is extremely cold and since the hotel is surrounded by much taller buildings, there’s hardly any times during the day that the sun is shining on the pool. The location of the hotel isn’t very close to any restraints or bars, but that’s just a personal preference. At checkout we were supposed to have a $75 credit to any restaurant charge, and instead of taking $75 off our bill, they added a $75 charge. Although it was a mistake, it did make a big difference and shouldn’t have been overlooked. Thankfully, we saw the issue before we left and Anthony at the front desk made sure to rectify the situation. Overall it was a pretty nice stay.

I wanted to love this hotel. Unfortunately, we didn't get to have the experience that so many others did.
We checked in at almost midnight, as our flight arrived at 11:30pm.
Upon checking in to room 805, we found that we could not access the hotel mini bar as the door was jammed. There was also a constant, loud clicking coming from the bathroom.
We called down to the front desk and they sent up an engineer to fix the problem.
After a few moments, he said we would need to switch rooms.
It was now after 12:30am...we were moved to room 820. I tried to order room service, but nobody would answer the phone. We were instructed to order online by the front desk.
The online portal would not accept out new room number, so we decided to go to bed hungry.
I walked over to lock the door and turn out the lights, only to discover that we had a non-working deadbolt.
The night manager came up and tried to convince me that we didn't need to lock the door...that it would be fine to go to bed with an unlocked room.
I told him that we were exhausted and just wanted our money back.
We packed everything up and proceeded downstairs for our refund.
The night manager gave us the money that we paid at check in, but refused to give us our refund on the deposit paid on October 20th in the amount of $204.82.
I showed him an email receipt with a deposit paid to the hotel, but he told me that unless I came back with a credit card statement showing the exact charge, I was out of luck on getting my money back. ( I don't usually travel with all my credit card statements in hand.)
We ended up leaving and booking a nice room less than 5 min away, but never got our refund.
Absolutely terrible customer service and the rudest hotel manager I have ever encountered.

What a gorgeous hotel! My partner and I stayed for 5 nights recently and we already can't wait to go back. Everything from the restaurant to the gym were exquisite. We loved the coffee shop and ate there almost everyday! We even had a drink at the beautiful bar. Absolutely no complaints! Don't change a thing! We'd like to give an extra special thanks to the kind employee that went above and beyond to find us one more delicious scone as we were checking out! Thank you so much to the amazing staff.

It was our first time here. We went 4 days after the great opening and it was mind blowing. The art deco style mixed with gold and Joan Crawford’s inspiration makes the hotel rise the standard. From the valet all the way to the pool on the rooftop service is priority and they make you feel like you’re number one. Location is everything, but mixed with luxury it makes this new jewel outside the Pearl a new place for meetings, dining and relaxation. They offer fitness center, roof top pool and bar, conference rooms, and electric chargers too! Definitely staying here soon!

The service was amazing. The staff was very kind, respectful, and incredibly helpful. I needed a belt because I forgot to pack one, but Rick came through for me and saved the day. This was one of the best service experiences I've ever had, 10/10. The front desk and valet services were also top-notch. The rooms were new, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with nice decor as well. Overall, it was very much worth it.
