I was really nervous having our first night away from our kids while they had a sleepover with their grandparents but the staff we encountered from check in to check out were fantastic and made us feel so at ease. ||Kendall at check in was so sweet and kind, made check in quick and seamless, we really felt welcome! Later we stopped at the Sundry shop and Sybil had a great sense of humor and helped us understand how the destination fee worked and got us on our way really quickly. And on our way out Felecia was very helpful and nice, topping off a great stay. ||The valet guys were also very helpful, but I unfortunately didn’t catch their names. They were quick and professional, I even forgot leftovers in our car (being pregnant I NEEDED them, ya know haha) and they offered to go grab it for us so my husband didn’t have to go walk to the car and get the box. ||Overall it was a great experience, and will definitely be back!

Stayed at the JW Marriott Houston by The Galleria for the third time and it did not start off well. After a flight delay, we arrived at the hotel after midnight and had difficulty checking in. ||Even though our reservation included Executive Lounge access, the person at reception (who did not have a name tag) said she didn’t see it in the system. Even showing her the confirmation which clearly stated the access didn’t convince her. After much back and forth, she finally grudgingly gave us access for one day and said that we would have to speak to a manager the next day for access the rest of our stay. When we got to our room, the extra bath towel and face towel we had requested (which ironically the receptionist had seen on our reservation) was not there. ||Otherwise the room was fine, relatively spacious and clean. ||Much better the following day, we spoke to Amy at the front desk who was very helpful and friendly and corrected our keycards to give us the access to the lounge for the rest of the stay. She also apologized for what had happened the previous night. ||Housekeeping did a nice job with servicing the room and then also gave us the extra towels that we had asked for.||The Executive Lounge worked well for a quick, hot breakfast and the JW Market in the lobby was a convenient place to grab a coffee or pastry and the staff there was also friendly.||Overall, the experience over the rest of the stay overcame the initial bumps that we had.

Great service from Gabe Justin and Gavin! They sincerely did a wonderful job engaging with us at our time of arrival at the JW marriot. It always makes you feel special when someone opens the door for my wife immediately when we arrive. It’s exactly the service I look for when traveling to nice hotels. Great start to the trip.

Very nice hotel convenient location to shopping and restaurants. I was moving out of Houston and stopped over for 1 night. At check-in was given $25. Credit. Advised to use it. The hotel passes and has done a $25 charge plus a fee of $29. Overall, $50+ is charged daily. I assume that's why they give a dining credit. |I would stay there again, but the daily fees would give me pause. This isn't a resort on a beautiful island

This Marriott needs an update. When I first walked in, my eye was drawn to the 7-8 story water stain that went from roof to balcony to balcony to balcony…
If this were my first Marriott stay, I would never return. I’m love the brand but his is a poor representation.
The highlight, the bar made a great old fashioned!

Payel, checked me in and was absolutely amazing. She made my pup Jaxson feel welcomed, was very knowledgeable of where I should go for the variety of questions I asked to her, was very friendly and made sure I was taken care of - all with a great smile! Upscale Marriott in prime location next to the Galleria. Older building makes it feel like a lower end JW, but definitely JW prices.

Checked in through the mobile app then checked in at the front desk. Front desk was curt and just said that info about the destination fee was behind my key card. Basically they snuck a $25(+$4 taxes) fee and didn’t really give me a chance to ask questions. Seems ridiculous for a $350/night hotel. It’s not a resort so they can’t call it a resort fee.

While the destination fee includes a $25 food and beverage credit, we tried to buy the over priced $23 burger and that also came with $4 in fees plus taxes. Basically we paid $33 for a burger.

We tried to goto the lounge after we checked in but it was barren and was not serving food Friday evening. The fancy coffee machine was out of beans. I called before booking to see if the lounge would be open during the weekends and the front desk said it was open 7 days a week. What they meant to say is that breakfast is served 7 days a week but evening appetizers are only Sunday-Thursday. Again the front desk was curt and unapologetic when explaining the lounge hours.

The rooms are nice but feel very cramped. The shower leaks and creates a puddle after you shower no matter how we closed the shower door.

The breakfast in the lounge was nice and on par with other JWs.
