We were in London for our wedding anniversary this weekend and decided to stay at the Mandanrin Oriental. We had booked a junior suite. From arrival to departure, everything was perfect. We felt completely at ease. The staff are super attentive, friendly and courteous. We had told the hotel about our wedding day, the room was beautifully prepared and we also received a bottle of champagne. The breakfast was excellent, the room service very good and far above standard. The location of the hotel is perfect. Many thanks to all the staff.

Me and my mom had a stay at MO Hyde Park between Oct 9-13, 2024 for her birthday celebration. I booked through AMEX Fine Hotels + Resorts program. We successfully checked-in on Oct 9. We had the birthday decoration in the room, despite no complimentary sparking wine. ||As I reserved a Deluxe room with city view, the room was facing Knightbridge. While we were staying at 9th floor, the car horn and the siren was still quite unbearable in late night. I understand it is London, but maybe more sound-proof works can be done for the rooms facing the main street? ||When taking a bath, there is no separate shampoo/shower gel in the bath area but fixed inside the shower room. There's only a soap in the bath area. This was not a big issue. However, the water temperature in general (shower, bathtub, and the sink) was just way too 'sensitive' - as water came out, it was cold of course, but if we turned the handle/knob to have more hot water, the water turned so hot that it can almost make tea. We understand that it is a historical building and maybe it only happened at our room, but some improvement works can definitely be done here. With regards to the hotel breakfast, as I booked through AMEX FHR, I presumed the breakfast was included, just like every other luxury hotels that I stayed so far. Yet, it turned out that based on the AMEX benefits we had in MO Hyde Park, only the continental breakfast (i.e. the buffet) was included, not the items on the A La Carte menu. Although it may be something agreed between MO and AMEX, we couldn't help but disappoint at it. Please don't get me wrong - the food quality at the buffet is still pretty good. It's just that sometimes we hope to have some warm food like an omelette in the morning, nothing crazy. It's just a bit funny from a guest perspective that we have to pay extra for the menu items, when the breakfast was included in our stay. We have never encountered the same situation like this in the rest of the trip as we also stayed in some luxury hotels in Paris, Venice and Rome in this trip to Europe.||However, the staff service at MO Hyde Park was amazing. The staff were all very friendly. We would like to say thank to the reception lady (sorry we forgot her name) who assisted us during the check-in and tried her best to give us an upgrade. Also hats-off to Assistant Head Concierge Tibor who kindly helped us reserving a restaurant. The house-keeping was on spot as always. The gentlemen at the bar reception who can speak Cantonese was nice and friendly. Sorry I didn't ask for his name, but I enjoyed our little chat.||As part of this mixed review, I can confidently say that it is a 10/10 for service and staff. However, as people stay in a hotel generally for a comfortable shower and bed&breakfast which are the most important, I have to regrettably say that it is 1 or 2/10 for this item. So overall it is a 4/10.
