A Mid-Century Modern Oasis with Creekside Serenity

We recently stayed at The Ruby Hotel in Round Rock, Texas, and it was a perfect blend of style and relaxation. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by its mid-century modern design—clean lines, warm wood accents, and just the right amount of retro charm.

The room was spacious and thoughtfully decorated, with a balcony that overlooked a serene creek. Sitting out there in the morning with a coffee or in the evening with a glass of wine was a highlight of our stay. The sound of the water made it incredibly peaceful.
The on-site swimming pool was another standout feature. It was impeccably clean, surrounded by chic lounge chairs, and had a laid-back vibe. The bar offered fantastic craft cocktails and a good selection of local beers.

The staff were welcoming and attentive, making sure our experience was top-notch. Whether you're looking for a relaxing retreat or just a stylish getaway, this hotel delivers on every level.

The Ruby Hotel Bar is such a vibe! It’s the perfect spot to meet friends and unwind with a delicious cocktail. I hosted a candle-making event here earlier this year, and it was an incredible experience. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating—if you’re considering it as an event space, DO IT!

What makes The Ruby even more special is its gorgeous location backing up to a greenbelt. The back patio is a peaceful retreat where you can enjoy nature while sipping your drink. I absolutely love The Ruby and highly recommend visiting this Round Rock gem!

Just reviewing the bar and food as we did not stay at the hotel.

Drinks were good. Got a old fashioned. The food wasn't bad but I also wouldn't call it delicious. I would return mainly for the food and the atmosphere. Probably will come back during the day so we can see the creek next time.

* Poor lighting in the room|* Broken toilet seat in the bathroom|* No hot water in the bathroom sink|* Used products in the bathroom that are not sanitary safe|*Coffee area: Cups to small for the coffee dispensed, only 2 packs of regular sugar vs tons of sugar substitutes, no creamer|* Maids start talking loudly and goofing off with each other at 8:30 am. It's one thing for it to be guests but staff should value the quiet and privacy of guests that may still be resting.|I would not have reviewed for the above reasons and just chalked it up to experience, however being walked in on while I was naked and getting dressed was enough to give this establishment a bad review and encourage others to avoid this place. This was trespassing (it was my paid for room at that point) and a violation of my privacy.|Check out is a 11 am. We were told that and it states that on the website. It was a little after 10 am and I had finished my shower and was getting dressed when I heard the door open and saw a body coming in. I yelled, "get out" to the top of my voice. |After she backed out and closed the door, my husband told me that she had just looked at him when he came in the door a few minutes earlier and so she knew we were still there! He also said that he'd just come back from the office to tell them that the toilet seat was broke and he was reminded at that time that check out was at 11 am. |The maid's name is Anna because I went back out after dressing and asked what her name was. I told her again that she had no business entering that room before 11 am and before we'd checked out. That room is paid for until 10:59 am or on the dot at 11 am. |I would never recommend this establishment to anyone and the local that recommended it to me will hear of my story.||I noticed the night before we left that there is a Red Roof close to the Ruby Hotel area. They have great rooms and have always had a good experience there. Next time, that is where I'll stay.

Finally got to stay at this hotel and the best part I liked about it was how quiet it was. Don't have to deal with all the noise of a traditional hotel of noise in the always. Easy check in and nice view from inside the rooms of the creek. I definitely recommend.

Where do I even start?! Talk of a beautiful property that blends in with nature yet right close to downtown. The history of this place is amazing. The rooms provide such a beautiful view of nature and one could spend hours watching the different kinds of birds that grace this spot with their presence and their singing. I lost count of the turtles swimming in the creek seemingly having a time of their lives. The thoughtfulness put in every detail of the rooms is a display of how caring the ones are for their guests.. If you want a tranquil and serene experience at a reasonable price coupled with great service from the welcoming and friendly staff, then this is your place. I'm definitely going back there soon.

Lovely location although our pet friendly room was by teh parking area and office/old house with junk on the back deck. Room was fine, but needs some TLC . Food was sub par-ordered four meals and none were good. Our family had a room overlooking the river that was larger and it was lovely. no body at check in, had to ask for linens for our grandson (they were delivered promptly), the pool was pretty...was nice, but not fantastic.

Thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of the property as well as the room, itself. Interior color scheme is 100% calm & uber tranquil. Slightly disappointed in shower water pressure & the temp. It never got hotter than luke warm. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room location, perfect.

I will add this note...we planned our entire Thanksgiving evening dinner around all that we read about The Ruby Bar. Right down to Ruby's cocktail & food menu. Regretfully, only on the day of arrival did we receive notification that the Bar would be closed for the entire Thanksgiving Day. Simply wish that detail would've been communicated well in advance, that's all.
