The hotel and front desk staff were amazing. The only issue I had on days 1 and 2 was that it stated a smoke free facility, but someone in a room near mines was smoking marijuana. The smell of it came through to my room and as a non smoker and with asthma, I always look for smoke free hotels. I reported it to the front desk staff and she immediately sent security to investigate. I did not smell it from days 3 to 5. The location is great for touring the pier area, jumping on a train to shopping, and exploring Old Town. I would stay here again

The hotel is in a fairly good location, which is convenient. The beds are acceptable, but nothing exceptional. Unfortunately, the breakfast is disappointing, resembling something you’d expect from a 2-star hotel in terms of quality.

One major issue is the excessively loud music played throughout the hotel at all hours, including as early as 6 AM. This is extremely disruptive and makes it impossible to find a quiet corner to relax or get any work done.

The hotel may be suitable for a short stay of one or two nights, but I wouldn’t recommend it for longer stays or for those looking for a peaceful environment.

A very confusing lay-out to the hotel. So many concrete pillars, too many corners, very easy to get turned around. Beds are fine, no strange scents or visible flaws to rooms, just too small and unimaginative furniture. Bathrooms okay. Great view towards bay on upper floors. Foods was fine and bar was good. My big objection is all the concrete on the lobby level and how easy it was to get lost. Lack of character as well. No charm. On the other hand the service was excellent, from the bartender to the front desk. Too bad it’s such a 1970s hotel design.

I’ve traveled with Marriott for many years. I’ve been to properties all over the world and met wonderful staff everywhere.||||Tara, at the front desk of this property is unmatched. She managed EVERY problem we had, mainly revolving our toddler and upgrades, with pizzazz. Will definitely be staying at this property again.

$25 destination fee is a rip off. At a resort I understand you are getting extra amenities that you may not get at a normal hotel. Even then that should be included in the rate. But in this case, this is a plain hotel. In fact the pool is even smaller than most hotels. The gym had a broken treadmill and no wipes in the gym during my entire stay.

I was given a coupon for happy hour, I assumed because of my Ambassador level with Marriott. But maybe everyone gets that. But it is 1 hour, during working hours. So pointless. I bring that up because I was told that is what the $25 covers.

My AC was super loud, I had to turn it off at night. That is a common theme on many reviews. I guess they chose not to fix it.

Front desk staff are very nice.

They have a door slam issue that should have addressed on renovation, sadly that is very common at hotels.

The hotel is acutely nice and in a good location. I stay here because it is close to our office. But that $25 is just a rip off. It is a real turn off, just charge more if you need to.

I will no longer stay here. It is not good for business travel with that fee. It looks bad on my expenses. I think they give you a museum ticket. That is of no value when you are there for work. Or if it is a second visit. I guess they do not want business travelers or return visits.

From the moment we arrived, on September 06, 2024 we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by Michael at the front desk.

Michael's friendly demeanor and engaging conversation immediately made us feel welcome. Upon discovering that it was our anniversary trip, he went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. We were delighted to return to our room after dinner to find a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting for us.

The property itself is beautifully maintained, but it was Michael's exceptional service that truly elevated our experience to a 10-star level. We want to thank him for his kindness and attention to detail.

We look forward to staying at the Westin San Diego Bayview again in the future and hope that others can experience the same level of hospitality that we enjoyed.

I was introduced to San Diego by my friend who suggested that I stay at the Westin. I would do it again. Many times! It's not only located in a very convenient area but the hotel is very clean, the staff very friendly, an the view from my room very beautiful.

I ordered room service the first night and it was brought to me within 25 minutes. The next morning I visited the gym and was surprised to see how large its size. A lot of hotels post photos of huge gyms only to find a treadmill or two stuck in a small closet. This one was very large, very clean, and with very new equipment.

The only kooky thing I would suggest is at the hotel figure out their elevators. They have four very fast ans scenic elevators. However two of the elevators went to the 23rd floor and the other two went to higher floors. You could not call a specific elevator. Every time I pushed the button I always got the wrong elevator. It was funny but would not distract me from returning. A great place to stay
